SMP Honored with O’Reilly’s “Vendor of the Year Award for Technical and Training Support”

It was a repeat victory for Standard Motor Products, as the company was honored with O’Reilly’s “Vendor of the Year Award for Technical and Training Support” for the second year in a row. The award was presented at the annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Managers’ Conference. More than 6,500 O’Reilly team members were in attendance.

The award recognizes suppliers who go above and beyond in their effort to train O’Reilly professional customers and team members to ensure they have an in-depth understanding of the products that vendor supplies.

David Wilbanks, Vice President Merchandise, O’Reilly Auto Parts, commended SMP for setting the bar high with consistently excellent training that’s free of sales pitches and gimmicks.

Commenting on the honor, Ryan Kooiman, SMP’s Director of Training, stated, “Receiving this award again is a testimony to the hard work that a lot of people have put in over the course of the year. That includes the trainers out there working with the customers each night, the developers writing the material, the admin staff ensuring that scheduling and shipping are handled, and Jan Jordan’s dedicated O’Reilly BWD sales team that makes sure our classes are filled. This award demonstrates the dedication of our whole SMP team, and I’m proud to be a part of it.”
