SMP's Ray Nicholas Wins Lifetime Achievement Award

Ray Nicholas, Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer of Standard Motor Products, Inc. (SMP), was presented with the Lifetime Technology Leadership award at the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) Technology Conference.

The AASA Technology Council (ATC) reserves the award for ATC supporters whose contributions it deems significantly advance technology in the automotive aftermarket.

Chris Gardner, AASA Vice President and Executive Director of the ATC, summed up Nicholas’s selection, stating, “The ATC board was unanimous in approving Ray for the council’s most prestigious recognition. He is an excellent leader, a strong advocate of industry technology efforts and a tireless supporter of the ATC.”

Commenting on the prestigious honor, James J. Burke, Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer, SMP, said, “It’s fitting that Ray received the Lifetime Technology Leadership Award. He’s an industry leader who’s dedicated to technological innovation and advancement, and his vision has propelled SMP to be recognized as an information technology leader in the aftermarket.”

Mr. Nicholas has served as SMP’s Vice President of Information Technology since 2006 and its Chief Information Officer since February 2013. His work with SMP and the ATC has been instrumental in helping both entities tackle critical modern-day technology issues such as cybersecurity.
