To commemorate the 90th anniversary of SMP’s founding, CEO Lawrence I. Sills, along with the company’s board of directors, company executives and guests, rang the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Closing Bell at 4:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, July 29, 2009.

“We’d like to thank the New York Stock Exchange for this once-in-a-lifetime experience, as it was truly an honor to have the opportunity to ring The Closing Bell; SMP has been privileged to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange for over 30 years,” said Sills. “What made it even more special is that we were able to share it with our board of directors and key company executives who have played an integral role in SMP’s success and longevity in the automotive aftermarket.”

A live Web cast of The Closing Bell (beginning at 3:59 p.m. EST) was streamed on the NYSE Web site and simulcast live on the billboard in the center of Times Square in New York City.
